Richard Ingram

Richard is a Post Doctoral Fellow at the Centre, who works to support the research and activities of the Centre’s five main area groups.

His doctoral dissertation explored narratives of mind problems, and the limits of narrative, in published autobiographies of people said to be mentally ill. This dissertation is under consideration for publication by the University of Toronto Press.

Richard has previously worked as a Post Doctoral Fellow in Disability Studies at the University of British Columbia and Ryerson University. As a mad movement activist, Richard aims to unsettle the rationalism of academia, and to open spaces for mad people to speak and be heard.
