Letter opposing cuts to community based mental health services

Dr. Marina Morrow, Director of the CGSM, sent this letter to Vancouver Coastal Health management opposing the cuts to a number of community based mental health services and supports last week.

In the letter Dr. Morrow states, “For very good reasons institutions are no longer seen as the best form of support for people and community-based programs, including those offering peer support, are now understood to be an essential component of core mental health services. Yet it is some of these very community services that have just been cut by Vancouver Coastal Health.”

You might consider adding your voice and concerns regarding these cuts too – write a letter, share this letter, etc.
