Centre investigators Tessa Parkes and Vicki Smye with colleagues Nancy Lipsky, Amy Salmon, Stephanie Gloyn are hosting the following community event: Making up methadone: International perspectives on inequity, social justice and methadone maintenance therapy

  • Date: May 16th, 2011.

  • Evening ends: 9:00pm
  • Place: W2 (Woodwards) Media CafĂ© – Basement Suite
  • Address: 111 West Hastings St., Vancouver

This event is part of a workshop which brings an international group of researchers to Vancouver to discuss the social and cultural dimensions of methadone maintenance therapy for opioid dependency. Please join us for an evening of presentations and dialogue focused on key dilemmas connected to this longstanding but often still controversial treatment. Lived experience, inequity and social justice are themes considered from the vantage point of different global contexts.

If you plan to attend, please RSVP (if you have not done so already for the May 16th date) to Nancy Lipsky at nlipsky@cw.bc.ca to help with the booking of refreshments.
